Siliguri, 12th January: Sensation prevailed after 39 students became victims of a road accident while returning from a marathon organized on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The accident took place National Highway 31 adjacent to Bhimbar of Bidhannagar in Phansidewa.
Reportedly, while giving space to a motorcycle, the pickup van went uncontrolled and overturned in the reservoir. Due to this, 39 students traveling in the pickup van were injured. On the other hand, soon after getting the news of the incident, Bidhan Nagar Police and Traffic Police reached the spot and rescued the said injured students, and took them to Bidhan Nagar Primary Health Center. However, the injured have been discharged after first aid.
