Siliguri, 24th July: An atmosphere of panic distress the residents of Siliguri after the body of a seventh-standard student was found hanging from a noose at Niranjan Nagar Colony in Ghogomali under Ward No. 36 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The deceased girl has been identified as Sweety Das.
According to reports, Suniti was a student at the Siliguri Ghogomali High School. On Tuesday, she had gone out with a friend from neighbourhood after skipping school. As a result, the friend’s mother complained and there was a minor dispute. However, later on Wednesday afternoon, the family members found the girl’s body hanging.
She was immediately rushed to the Siliguri Hospital where the on-duty medical officials declared her dead. Upon receiving the news, the Ashighar police reached the scene and initiated an investigation.
