State government directs nursing home in Siliguri to treat COVID patients, safe house to be operational soon

Siliguri, 28th April: The number of coronavirus cases is increasing in the district. To deal with this, the state government has once again directed a nursing home in Matigara to treat COVID-19 patients. The facility has 30 beds at the moment, where critically ill coronavirus patients will be kept under the expenses of the state government.

Last year, two nursing homes were set up at Matigara and Kawakhali. A 110-bedded COVID block was prepared at Medical College. On Wednesday, outgoing Tourism Minister Goutam Deb said that 30 beds had been taken at the Matigara nursing home. On the other hand, a safe house has been set up in Fuleshwari which will be handed over to the health department today on behalf of SMC. This time the number of beds has been increased from 50 to 70. Out of them, there are 18 oxygen beds.
