State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee staged a Maha rally in Siliguri against NRC and CAA

Siliguri, 3rd January: The State Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee staged a rally in Siliguri today against National Register of Citizens (NRC), National Population Register (NPR) and Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA).


Before the rally, the Chief Minister wished everyone Happy New Year. At the same time, the Chief Minister expressed resentment over the central government’s role. Targeting the BJP, she said that due to the laws of the central government, the common people are disturbed. She said that no one needs to fear CAA and NRC and assured to be with the common people. At the same time, she suggested everyone make their voter cards.

After that, the Maha rally commenced from Mallaguri. During the rally, huge crowds of people were sighted on both sides of Hill cart Road. Thousands of TMC supporters from Siliguri and Jalpaiguri participated in the rally. After reaching Baghajatin Park, the Chief Minister thanked everyone for supporting the rally. She then departed for Bagdogra airport.
