Siliguri, 05th June: Celebrating World Environment Day, a tree plantation programme was organized today at Kalaramjote Campus, Sashastra Seema Bal Sector Headquarters Ranidanga. About 100 saplings of different varieties were planted by Commandant (Veterinary) Dr Victor Saha and other officers and personnel.
Conveying the importance of trees and plants and their conservation, the Commandant said that at present the changing environment of the earth remains a very serious topic. Which can be reduced by planting trees. He further added that tree plantation programmes will be carried out during this monsoon season at different schools, hospitals and various public places.
To make this programme successful at Regional Headquarters Ranidanga, Deputy Commandant M. D. Tamang, Deputy Commandant (Communication) Mridul Houladar, Deputy Commandant Subhash Kumar Das, Assistant Commandant Sonu Kumar and all the employees participated enthusiastically. The programme was organized keeping in mind the COVID-19 protocols and maintaining social distance.
