SMC observes 80th death anniversary of Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore

Siliguri, 08th August: The 80th death anniversary of Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore was observed on behalf of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Sunday.

A cultural programme was organized at Rabindra Mancha in Baghajatin Park. SMC administrator Goutam Deb, BoA member Ranjan Sarkar, and Vivek Baid paid homage by garlanding the statue of Tagore.

Goutam Deb said, “We have asked Public Works Department (PWD) for a position at Mahatma Gandhi More (Airview more) to establish a statue of Rabindranath Tagore. It will be one of the best sculptures in the state.”
