Siliguri, 18th January: The Darjeeling district women’s organization of the All India Krishak Khet Majdoor Sangathan (AIKKMS) staged a sit-in protest demanding the repeal of the farm bill and in support of the farmers’ movement.
AIKKMS called for a National Women Farmer’s Day on January 18 demanding the repeal of the Farm bill. As a part of the movement, the district women’s organization staged a sit-in protest near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in front of the Head Post Office in Siliguri.
Jayanti Bhattacharya, Mani Roy, Supriti Pal, and other leaders were present at the demonstration programme.
