Siliguri, 21st July: The much-awaited Burdwan Road flyover in Siliguri is likely to be inaugurated on July 27, bringing relief to commuters who have long been facing traffic congestion in the area.
According to sources, the flyover may be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Siliguri MLA and state Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh is also likely to be present at the event.
Residents, especially those travelling through Airview More and Burdwan Road areas, have been facing severe traffic congestion for a long time due to heavy vehicle movement and increasing traffic pressure.
With the opening of the flyover, traffic management in the area is expected to improve significantly, reducing congestion and providing relief to daily commuters, traders and local residents.
However, the official announcement regarding the inauguration date has not yet been made by the administration. The project is expected to be inaugurated on July 27 in the presence of the Chief Minister.
