Siliguri, 29th May: Siliguri Mahakuma Krira Parishad held a press conference today at their office to announce the upcoming Fast Division League cum Knockout Football Tournament. Secretary of the Departmental Sports Council, Kuntal Goswami, and Football Secretary, Saurabh Bhattacharya, shared the details of the tournament with the media.
The football tournament is scheduled to take place on May 31st at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. A total of 10 teams will be participating in the competition. Each game will have a “Man of the Match” award to recognize outstanding individual performances. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000, while the runner-up team will receive Rs 20,000. Additionally, there will be a special Fair Play award with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, along with a trophy.
Furthermore, the organizers have extended an invitation to senior players to grace the final day of the tournament. The press conference was attended by notable individuals such as Anoop Basu, Nantu Pal, Jayant Saha, and others who expressed their support for the event.
