Siliguri, 07th July: The Indira Pally area, located in Ward No. 46 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), has been severely water-logged due to the continuous heavy rainfall occured last night. As a result, the locals expressed their discontent against the efforts of the Ward Councilor, Dilip Barman.
Notably, the flood-like situation gets considerably worse every year due to the lack of a proper drainage system. As a result, the pedestrians are experiencing difficulties by travelling along the streets due to the accumulation of water. However, the issue has still prevailed even after voting for the councilor. Reportedly, even this year, the locals have blamed the poor drainage system for the current issue, as water has begun to accumulate in the streets, which led their expression of anger towards the councilor.
Apart from this, the locals emphasized that the area has been deprived of development for a prolonged period. In addition, it was anticipated that the councilor would resolved the aforementioned issues. However, the general impression of the region has not changed despite the voting.
