Siliguri’s Bengal Safari Park reopens to public after long 6 months

Siliguri, 02nd October: After closing for 6 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Siliguri’s Bengal Safari Park reopened to the public on Friday. All tourists are being allowed to enter the park in compliance with every safety measure. All arrangements including thermal screening and sanitization are being conducted in the park’s main entrance.


   

Recently, the state forest department has issued guidelines for opening the park. According to the guidelines, entry tickets must be bought online. A total of 10 buses will run for the safari and passengers will have to be accommodated while maintaining social distance. Not more than 3,000 tourists will be allowed to enter the park on a day. On the other hand, 30 people can enter the restaurants inside the park at a time. However, elephant safari will remain closed as of now.


In this regard, Bengal Safari Park director Badal Debnath stated that the park has resumed services from today in compliance with all safety regulations. Strict monitoring will be kept regarding the maintenance of social distance inside the park, usage of masks, and proper sanitization.

It is to be noted that the Bengal Safari Park was closed for about 6 months in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the park authorities have suffered extreme losses. Meanwhile, tourists are happy over the reopening of the park before Durga Puja.
