Siliguri, 24th March: In a recent development, cops of Siliguri Women Police Station arrested one more member of an online sex racket gang from Haidar Para. The arrested woman has been identified as Lalita Barman alias Chandana.
Reportedly, the cops had busted the said gang on December 22. During this, the team had arrested other accomplices Mizanur Islam alias Bau (27) and Samrat Sarkar alias Vikram (24) along with Chanda Saha alias Jaya for operating the racket. While investigating the matter, cops also arrested Akhilesh Kumar, the gang’s kingpin, from Begusarai, Bihar after two months. He was presented in Siliguri court and taken on police remand for seven days. Reportedly, after the intense interrogation of Akhilesh Kumar, the name of Lalita Burman alias Chandana came to the fore.
Acting promptly, the police started looking for Lalita Barman with the help of a phone number. Last evening, the police arrested Lalita from a rented house in the Haidar Para. She was presented in Siliguri court today where cops demanded remand from the judge for further investigation.
