Siliguri Welfare Organization issues helpline numbers to help people get through the pandemic

Siliguri, 12th May: A helpline number has been introduced for patients in home isolation as well as for their family or relatives. This initiative has been taken on behalf of the Siliguri Welfare Organization.

Speaking on behalf of the organization at a press conference on Wednesday, Abhijit Majumder said that their toll-free helpline number 9772227487 will be open from 10 am to 12 am everyday. Patients can consult the doctors over the phone and can take medical advice.

Another of their new initiatives is to focus on mental health. In this situation, many people are mentally depressed if any of their family members test positive for the virus. For them, another helpline number (0353-2535959) has been launched which is open from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The organization is also trying to build a field hospital keeping in mind the current situation, where arrangements will be made to accommodate approximately 25 beds. Each bed will have an oxygen cylinder. They will also provide doctors, nurses, and volunteer forces. All services will be provided free of cost. They hope to be able to build this field hospital soon.
