Siliguri Student Kidnap-Murder Case Update: Accused confesses his crime

Siliguri, 24th March: The accused of Siliguri’s minor student rape-murder case has finally confessed to his crimes. During the police interrogation, the accused revealed shocking revelations that he first raped the 12-year-old minor and then brutally murdered her by strangling her to destroy the evidence.

The accused identified as Manoj Roy was on police remand for ten days. During the strict interrogation, the accused confessed that on the pretext of taking the minor for a ride, he first took her to the forest of Khairani Lane in Sukna and then raped her. But when the minor started shouting for help he strangled her to death.

Following this, he came back to his in-law’s house. But, knowing that the police retrieved CCTV footage of the day the minor went missing, he cleverly left Siliguri for Dhupguri. To escape from the police, Manoj first absconded to Hyderabad and then to Karnataka and Kerala. Hopping from one city to another and escaping from the police he tried to flee to Nepal from Guwahati. But foiling his plan, the police of SOG and Pradhan Nagar police station jointly arrested the accused from the Bengal-Assam border on March 13, about three months after the incident.

Today, after the completion of the remand period, the police produced the accused in the Siliguri court. But during this, the accused had to face the enraged family members of the deceased minor. It has been told that Manoj will be produced in court once again on the coming 6th of April.
