Siliguri residents appeal to reopen private chambers of doctors in lockdown 3.0

Siliguri, 06th May: Several Siliguri residents, on Wednesday, raised their voices demanding the private chambers of doctors to reopen immediately during the third phase of the lockdown.

They stated that the private chambers have been closed ever since the nation-wide lockdown has been imposed. As a result, government hospitals have been the only hope during medical emergencies. However, since several critical patients are admitted in the government hospitals amid the pandemic, common people hesitate to go to the hospitals in cases of mild fever and headache. Therefore, several people urged the administration to allow the private chambers to reopen immediately following all the government protocols.

In this context, the Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Ranjan Sarkar asked the doctors to open their private chambers for a limited time in the day as it is not always possible for common people to travel long distances in order to visit government hospitals during the lockdown.
