Siliguri Police gets tough on violators, several detained for not wearing masks in public places

Siliguri, 03rd July: West Bengal government has made it mandatory for people to wear masks in public places to check the spread of coronavirus. But as the state enters Unlock 2.0, the next phase of the coronavirus lockdown, people seem to have become a little negligent and careless in following guidelines for COVID-19.

People in Siliguri too were sighted without mouth masks in public places. Acting promptly, Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard Police detained such violators by conducting an operation in the area on Friday.

Likewise, motorists, drivers and passengers traveling without mask were forewarned by the police.

While number of COVID-19 cases is rapidly increasing in the city, carelessness could be the final nail in the coffin.
