Siliguri Municipal Corporation launches 4 new garbage cleaning vans to contain dengue outbreak

Siliguri, 05th August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation is proactively taking measures to prevent the outbreak of dengue in the city. As part of their efforts to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, they have recently introduced four new garbage cleaning vans. The Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Goutam Deb, inaugurated the garbage cleaning vans, highlighting the significance of this initiative.


In anticipation of the dengue season, the corporation has already made necessary preparations to mitigate the severity of any potential outbreak. They have initiated activities like fogging, bleaching, and conducting a comprehensive house-to-house survey to identify and eliminate potential breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes. Furthermore, the corporation has hired additional employees to ensure effective garbage disposal and sanitation in the city.

During the inauguration event of the new garbage cleaning vans, Mayor Goutam Deb was joined by other Corporation officials, including Manik Dey, MMIC Conservancy and Solid Waste Management.
