Rajganj, 20th August: Bhorer Alo Police recovered 295 grams of brown sugar and arrested one person during an operation at Paromunda More on the Teesta Canal Road in Gajoldoba, Rajganj, late Wednesday night.
According to police sources, the operation was conducted after receiving information about the suspected movement of brown sugar in the area. During the operation, police arrested a man identified as Alauddin and recovered around 295 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
The arrested accused is a resident of Ramganj area in Islampur. The seized brown sugar is estimated to have a market value of over ₹1 lakh.
According to police, the brown sugar was allegedly intended to be sold in the Ambari area.
The accused will be produced before the district court on Thursday. Police are investigating whether any other persons are involved in the alleged drug trafficking operation.
