Siliguri, 31st December: In a significant breakthrough, the team of Special Operation Group (SOG) under Siliguri Metropolitan Police launched surprise raids in discos and pubs ahead of the new year. The incident led to a widespread commotion across the city.
According to reports, a pub and disco located at Sevoke Road was unlawfully operated without valid documentation. Acting on a tip-off, the team of SOG arrived at the pub on Saturday night and demanded a license with the necessary documents from the manager.
Upon failing to show the necessary documents, the pub manager along with five others were arrested with the aid of the Bhaktinagar police station. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
