Siliguri, 16th July: Starting today, a total lockdown has been imposed for 7 days across 47 wards under Siliguri Municipal Corporation as a containment measure.
Despite repeated reminders to stay home, several people are still being sighted in different parts of Siliguri, deliberately breaching the lockdown restrictions.
In this regard, NJP police, since this morning, launched operations in various parts of the city and detained several lockdown violators. Naka checking has already commenced in different areas.
