Sikkim Joint Action Committee called 12-hour bandh, people face trouble

Siliguri, 08th February: The Joint Action Committee, which has been advocating for the removal of the ‘immigrant’ tag from the Sikkimese-Nepali community, called for a statewide shutdown on February 8, 2023, from 06 AM for the next 12 hours. The tourists are facing a lot of trouble due to the bandh. 


No bus or vehicle is plying in Sikkim due to which many tourists are stuck in Siliguri and also Rangpo. Vehicles will only ply after 6 pm. Many people were spotted stranded at the SNT Bus Stand near Siliguri Junction since this morning.
