Shankar Ghosh holds press conference in Siliguri regarding the prevailing COVID situation in the city

Siliguri, 04th May: Shankar Ghosh, the newly elected MLA of Siliguri, held a press conference on Tuesday regarding the prevailing coronavirus situation in the city as well as the attack on BJP workers after the election results.

Ghosh stated that the ruling party had attacked Bharatiya Janata Party activists soon after winning the election. Many lives have also been lost in the process. He highly condemned the incident and stated that if such episodes are not stopped immediately, the party will have to think of alternative arrangements to deal with the situation.

On the other hand, regarding the prevailing COVID-19 situation, he said that the administration has to take the helm with a much stronger hand. Many are seen stepping out of their houses before receiving the test reports. In the first phase of the pandemic, a task force was formed in each ward to deliver essential commodities to the houses of the COVID patients. However, this time, no such arrangements have been done. As a result, everyone is stepping out without hesitation. Also, no safe houses are being built, due to which, the COVID-19 cases graph is going upwards.

Ghosh further maintained that the winning BJP candidates of Siliguri, Dabgram-Fulbari, Matigara-Naxalbari, and Phansidewa assembly constituencies will hold a meeting this evening, where they will figure out ways to help the people amid such an alarming situation.
