Siliguri, 02nd June: Keeping the upcoming World Environment Day on June 5th in mind, along with the rest of the country, Siliguri Municipal Corporation too will be organizing various awareness programs. In this regard, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb said that a plantation drive will be held to enhance the greenery of the city.
According to reports, today, Gatebazar Yuva Bharati along with other social organizations reached out to various markets in the city following which they appealed to the businessmen to give up using plastic. Speaking on behalf of the organization, doctors Bhaskar Roy and Kanchan Roy termed plastic to be one of the main causes of global warming for which, they pledged to ban its use as soon as possible.
