Seven-day Baul Utsav organized at Takimari, Rajganj to commemorate Rash Utsav

Rajganj, 09th November: A seven-day-long Baul Utsav has started on the occasion of Rash Utsav at Takimari, Rajganj. The said festival was inaugurated on Tuesday night by the Minister of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Bulu Chik Baraik. Reportedly, this year Rash Utsav of Takimari of Mantadari will complete their 24th year of celebration. The said Rash Utsav has been organized under the aegis of the Nava Milan Youth Association and Takimari Bazar Committee. Like every year, the Uttarbanga Folk Culture and Baul Utsav have begun this year too. 
Apart from different districts of West Bengal, artists from Jharkhand, Assam and Bangladesh have come. A seven-day fair has also been organized on the occasion of Rash and will highlight various aspects of Lord Krishna’s stories through models. According to committee sources, the program has been organized with the help of locals. People from various other places outside the district come to listen to Baul songs. 
During this, Saokat Molla, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Environment, Forest and Tourism of the Legislative Assembly, Jalpaiguri District-in-Council President Uttam Barman, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, 9 members of the Standing Committee on Environment, Forest and Tourism and MLA, Member of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority along with Krishna Das and others were present during this.
