Siliguri, 01st April: The paved road of Siliguri’s Mahananda Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat named after Mohun Bagan is all set to be inaugurated on April 02. Mohun Bagan club secretary, Debasish Dutta arrived in Siliguri on Saturday to participate in the inaugural ceremony. A large number of Mohun Bagan players and supporters will be present at tomorrow’s programme.
Club secretary Debasish Dutta met Mayor Goutam Deb after reaching the city. Following this, while addressing the press, he expressed happiness over the Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s decision. He stated that the move will surely increase the enthusiasm among the football players of Siliguri. The road in other districts is also likely to be named after Mohun Bagan.
On the other hand, Mayor Goutam Deb said that such initiatives will lead to the development of sports in the city. Also, the SMC looks forward to naming different streets after other clubs in the future.
