Alipurduar, 18th October: With the Kali Puja and Diwali just around the corner, the whole country is preparing for celebrating with gaiety. Likewise, the sculptors are busy preparing idols in Kumartuli. After the completion of Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja, the sculptors of Kumartuli of Jateshwar are occupied with work for the Kali Puja. They are ecstatic with the orders this year as it has relevantly increased and gotten better in comparison to the last two years.
In this regard, Jateshwar’s potter Chayan Barua said that only a few days are left for Kali Puja. There is a good demand for Goddess Kali’s idols this year. Many people and Puja organizers have come to buy the idols without placing an order and the sculptors and potters are busy meeting the demands.
