Siliguri, 17th March: Members of the North Bengal University branch of the Sara Bangla Trinamool Shikkha Bandhu Samiti staged a sit-in protest demanding the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor at the earliest.
Reportedly, on Friday, the members of the organization staged a protest in the administrative building of the university. It is to be noted that there is no Vice-Chancellor or Finance Officer in the University. Also, the students living in the hostel are not getting food and the employees are not getting a salary.
The lack of administrative officials has caused uncertain situations and also affected urgent work. Thus, the organization members demanded the appointment of the Vice Chancellor at the earliest. The spokesperson of the organization said that the state administration has already been informed and will be informed at the Raj Bhavan in the coming days.
