Siliguri, 19th July: In a heartwarming act of compassion, the Salbari Traffic Guard reunited a lost 72-year-old man with his family.
According to reports, a woman brought the elderly man, later identified as Bir Prasad Sharma, to the Salbari Traffic Guard office after noticing him roaming aimlessly on a road. The ailing man was unable to clearly provide his identity or address.
Acting swiftly, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Salbari Traffic Guard and the police team launched an inquiry. Their efforts revealed that Sharma was a resident of Rangbhang in Darjeeling. After persistent attempts, the police successfully contacted his son, Vivek Sharma, and informed him about the situation.
Vivek Sharma later arrived at the Salbari Traffic Guard office, where the police safely reunited him with his father. The Pradhan Nagar Police Station was also informed about the incident as part of the procedure.
The family’s relief and gratitude highlighted the humane efforts of the traffic police, whose prompt action earned appreciation from local residents.
