Alipurduar,11th March: Two people have been killed and two others were severely injured in a road accident at the Asian Highway at the Hasimara Dooars Dhaba area under Alipurduar district, on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Lakpa Sherpa, resident of Khokala in Jaigaon, and Wanchu Lama.
According to the information received, four people, on Wednesday late night, were on their way to the hospital, during which their car collided head-on with a vehicle at the said area, severely injuring all four.
Following this, the injured individuals were rushed to Latabari Rural Hospital with the help of the police and locals. While Lakpa Sherpa and Wanchu Lama succumbed to their injuries, the other two are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Siliguri.
