Kharibari, 26th August: Raniganj Panishali Gram Panchayat Pradhan Bhabatosh Mandal and Deputy Pradhan Pushpa Mandal met the Kharibari Batasi rape victim’s family.
The Panchayat Pradhan assured the family members that he will try his optimum level to provide justice to the victim. Also, the Deputy Pradhan Pushpa Mandal asserted that the criminals will be arrested soon and demand will be made to take stern action against them
It is to be noted that a deaf and dumb girl from the Batasi Satish Chandra Tea Garden area was gang-raped. Following which, she was initially rushed to the nearby rural hospital. However, due to her critical condition, she was later shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). She is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, people have demanded the arrest and severe punishment of the accused involved in the incident.
