Rajganj, 26th March: Allegations have been raised against the miscreants for taking down the flag hoisted for Ram Navami from the Fulbari area in the wee hours of the night.
On the other hand, Ram Mahotsav Samiti has protested against the same by blocking the road and demanding the arrest of the miscreants. It is to be noted that on March 30, a grand procession will be taken out from Fulbari to Siliguri on the occasion of Ram Navami. Therefore, on March 20, saffron flags were hoisted from Fulbari to Uttarkanya. However, it has been alleged that some flags were taken away by miscreants in the area adjacent to Fulbari Battalion More late Saturday night.
After the incident, the members of Ram Mahotsav Samiti protested by blocking the road on the Asian Highway 2 East Dhantala area, demanding the arrest of the accused. After about 30 minutes of jam, the blocked road was cleared on the assurance of the NJP police station. Along with this, a protest was also held at the NJP police station. Organization member Rajeev Saha demanded the arrest of the culprits at the earliest. He further warned to launch bigger agitation if the culprits are not apprehended at the earliest.
