Siliguri, 22nd July: Raincoats were distributed among sanitation workers in Ward No. 13 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Wednesday as part of an initiative by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mandal No. 03.
A programme was organised at Punjabi Para area, where raincoats were handed over to sanitation workers. Former opposition leader of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Amit Jain, Mandal President Anup Agarwal, along with other party workers, were present at the event.
The organisers stated that sanitation workers continue to perform their duties even during adverse weather conditions. Keeping their health and safety in mind, the initiative was taken to provide protection during the monsoon season.
The programme aimed to help sanitation workers avoid health issues during rainfall and continue their work without inconvenience.
