Poster featuring PM Modi with Lord Ram sparks controversy in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th April: The establishment of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir has provoked political tensions in Siliguri with opposition parties alleging that BJP is using the temple as a focal point for nationwide propaganda. Amidst this, posters featuring a cartoon image of Lord Ram with Prime Minister Narendra Modi have stirred controversy in Ward No. 16 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).

According to reports, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has put up a poster depicting Lord Ram and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in cartoon form as a challenge for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. On Saturday morning, the posters triggered political debates all across the city.

In response, the supporters of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and BJP have condemned the activity. They further alleged that the ruling party of the state has orchestrated inferior politics by making a cartoon of Lord Rama along with the Prime Minister.
