Siliguri, 24th March: In a recent development, the undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police station conducted raids at two different locations and apprehended two individuals with substantial quantity of liquor. The arrested accused have been identified as Sujit Roy and Suraj Sah.
As per received information, on Saturday night, Sujit Ray was involved in purchasing alcohol from Siliguri to smuggle it to Bihar. However, upon suspicion, the undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police were alerted of the accused and arrested him with foreign liquor from the Junction-Bihar Bus Stand in Siliguri.
Additionally, based on intelligence received late at night, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station launched an operation in a residence located in the Kuli Para area under Ward No. 01 of SMC and recovered a significant amount of liquor from the residence. Furthermore, Suraj Sah was arrested on charges of conducting illegal alcohol trade from the residence. On Sunday, both the accused were produced before Siliguri Court, while the police are investigating further into the entire incident.
