Siliguri, 29th June: In a significant recovery operation, Bhakti Nagar police recovered 32 mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners. In one notable case, a mobile phone that had been missing for five years was also returned to its owner.
According to police sources, the plainclothes team of Bhakti Nagar Police Station carried out the recovery after extensive investigation. One of the phones belonged to Debesh Sen Gupta, who had lost his mobile near Payel Cinema five years ago. He had lodged a written complaint at Bhakti Nagar Police Station at that time but had later given up hope of recovery.
However, after sustained efforts and technical tracking, police successfully traced and recovered the device. The owner expressed happiness upon receiving the long-lost phone and thanked the police.
Police sources further stated that in recent months, multiple complaints regarding theft, snatching, and lost mobile phones were registered under Bhaktinagar Police Station limits. Acting on these complaints, the plainclothes team used location tracking and other technical inputs to trace the devices.
After completing legal formalities, all 32 recovered mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners. The recovery brought relief and satisfaction to the recipients, who appreciated the efforts of the police.
