Police nab 41 youths from a pub in Siliguri for violating COVID protocol and restrictions

Siliguri, 17th July: The state government has imposed restrictions to contain the spread of coronavirus amid the pandemic. Despite this, reports of people defying the COVID regulations tend to surface every now and then. One such incident surfaced from a disco and pub named Nasha in Siliguri on Friday night.


Flouting the COVID protocols, a party was going on in the pub located on Sevoke Road even after 8 pm, the stipulated time limit. Acting on a tip-off, the Bhaktinagar police conducted a raid and arrested 41 people from the said pub. When the police got information about this, the police launched a campaign in the said pub and found several customers taking alcohol, violating COVID protocol and lockdown time restrictions.

Out of the 41 persons arrested, 25 are male and 16 female. They were brought to Bhaktinagar police station the very night and a specific case was initiated under Disaster Management Act.
