Police Day observed at Bagdogra Police Station

Siliguri, 01st September: On Sunday, the Bagdogra police of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police celebrated the significant Police Day that is observed annually.

According to reports, the event, organized by the Traffic Guard of Siliguri Metropolitan Police, hosted an awareness camp attended by Siliguri Metropolitan Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar, DCP Traffic Bishwajit Thakur, and other officials. Local children participated in the camp, which included a quiz competition with prizes awarded to the winners.

Additionally, the program included a tree-plantation drive, with saplings distributed to attendees. Apart from this, helmets were given to motorbike riders, and school bags were handed out to students to promote safety and support education.

On this day, DCP Traffic Bishwajit Thakur emphasized the importance of reducing unnecessary fear of the police among children. He noted that such fears create a distance between the police and the public, whereas the police are always eager to serve and assist people in any situation, not just in maintaining law and order.
