Alipurduar, 20th August: A large quantity of cough syrup and intoxicating tablets were recovered from the Torsha area of Jaigaon before being smuggled to Bhutan. Three people were arrested in the incident.
According to Jaigaon Police Station sources, the police detained a truck in the said area of the Bhutan border on Thursday night. 50 bottles of cough syrup and a large quantity of intoxicating tablets were recovered from the truck. It has been learned that the cough syrup and intoxicating tablets were being transported to Bhutan.
The arrested individuals were sent to Alipurduar court on Friday.
