Alipurduar, 14th January: The traditional ‘Pithe-puli Utsav’ was held in Alipurduar in celebration of Makar Sankranti. Organized by a local group, the festival has been a tradition for the past six years, with women showcasing a variety of homemade pithe-puli (traditional Bengali sweets and snacks).
The festival aims to preserve this traditional culinary art, ensuring that it does not fade away with time. In addition to displaying various types of pithe-puli, a competition was also held as part of the festivities.
