People return without getting COVID vaccine despite hours of wait in Siliguri

Siliguri, 27th April: Despite waiting in long queues for hours in front of the COVID Vaccination centre of Matri Sadan Hospital in Siliguri, people had to return home without getting their shots.

Countless people, including senior citizens, queued up there to get their COVID-19 shots in the scorching heat. Some said that they took an off from work just to get the vaccine. However, the people were forced to go back without getting vaccinated as the centre had limited doses.

Upon receiving the news, Nantu Paul arrived at Matri Sadan Hospital to take a stock of the situation. He questioned the role of the authorities of the vaccination centre and stated that the people should have been informed earlier regarding the vaccines running out of stock.

The BJP leader later had a talk with the Municipal Commissioner regarding the matter and hence the vaccine is said to arrive by Tuesday evening. He highly condemned the inconvenience being faced by the common people especially the elderlies. He said that the facility of helpline numbers at the vaccination centres would be a great help to all.
