Partial lockdown across the state: Scarce buyers in markets of Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 01st May: While the markets in the Alipurduar district seemed quite deserted after a thunderstorm and heavy rainfall befell over the region, the entire state is under partial lockdown from today onwards.

It is to recall, on Friday, West Bengal’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued certain restrictions in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the state. As per the directive, all shopping complexes, malls, beauty parlous, cinema halls, restaurants and bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas, and swimming pools shall remain closed. Also, bazaars/haats will remain open only from 7-10 am and 3-5 pm.

Reportedly, Alipurduar district had a relatively less number of customers in markets. Today most of the buyers and sellers were wearing masks.
