Siliguri, 22nd July: The Enforcement Branch and Panitanki Outpost Police carried out a joint raid against the alleged sale of counterfeit products using logos of leading brands at Church Road in Siliguri.
The operation was conducted at two footwear shops following allegations that fake shoes bearing the logos of well-known companies were being sold illegally.
During the raid, police seized more than 300 pairs of shoes. Preliminary investigation revealed that the footwear was allegedly being marketed using the trademarks and logos of several major brands without authorisation.
Following the operation, notices were issued to the shop owners.
Authorities stated that strict action will continue against the sale of counterfeit products using registered brand names. Similar enforcement drives will also be conducted in other parts of the city to curb such illegal trade.
