Opposition party raises questions regarding Kanchenjunga Stadium ground during SMC’s board meeting

Siliguri, 27th February: The Chief Minister held an administrative meeting on February 21st at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. Due to this, the ground of the stadium has been damaged. Since then people from different camps have raised their voices.


On Monday, during the board meeting of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, the Mayor was questioned about the Kanchenjunga Stadium ground and the Mayor assured to solve the problems at the earliest. The second board meeting of this year was held at the SMC on Monday. In the said board meeting, the opposition parties highlighted the damaged ground of Kanchenjunga Stadium.

Opposition councillor Nurul Islam said that not only the government but the people of Siliguri also has an important role in the construction of Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. However, the stadium’s ground was destroyed for the Chief Minister’s meeting and opposing it he added, to solve it soon.


On the other hand, the mayor raised questions and said that during the tenure of the leftist board, the ground of the stadium was ruined by holding several programs. However, the stadium will be made suitable for playing in the primary phase. Along with this, Mayor Goutam Deb assured that the stadium will be built at the state-of-the-art level.
