Siliguri, 04th January: The white-clad police of the Bhakti Nagar police station have arrested a youth with a large quantity of banned cough syrup and injectable drugs. The accused has been identified as Rakesh Saha. According to the information, Rakesh Saha had reached Siliguri’s PC Mittal bus stand last Tuesday night for selling the banned cough syrup and intoxicant injection in a scooty.
On receiving a tip-off, the plain-dressed police of Bhakti Nagar police station launched a campaign. During this, on the basis of suspicion, the police searched the said youth and the scooty. During the search, a large quantity of banned cough syrup and intoxicant injections were recovered from the trunk of the scooty of whose market value has been estimated at lakhs of rupees.
After registering a case under the NDPS Act, the accused has been presented in the Jalpaiguri court today. With this, the police are probing the entire matter.
