Siliguri, 31st July: In yet another railway disorder, a train transporting oil tankers derailed in the Rangapani area.
As per reports, the oil tanker train was en route to an oil depot in Siliguri. Upon arriving in the Rangapani area, two of the tanker cars accidentally went off the railway tracks. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties from the incident.
However, the incident led to a disruption in the railway movement from that route as all the trains scheduled to travel on the same route have been put to a halt. Meanwhile, the railway response team has initiated efforts to restore normalcy.
Notably, over a month ago, a major train accident involving the Kanchanjunga Express and freight train collision had been witnessed in Rangapani that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
