Jalpaiguri, 31st July: Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police recovered a huge quantity of banned cough syrup during an operation near the Teesta Bridge area. The truck driver was arrested in connection with the seizure.
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, police conducted a search of a goods vehicle. During the search, a large quantity of banned cough syrup was found concealed under sacks of flour.
The market value of the seized cough syrup is estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees. Police have started an investigation to find out the source of the cough syrup and its intended destination.
