Siliguri, 14th July: Plainclothes police of NJP Police Station under Siliguri Police Commissionerate recovered a scooty that was stolen three months ago and arrested a person in connection with the case.
According to police sources, the scooty was stolen from the Kawakhali area on April 12. Following a complaint by the owner, a case was registered at NJP Police Station, and police had been investigating the matter since then.
After nearly three months, police achieved a breakthrough based on information and conducted an operation near NJP Railway Hospital More. During the operation, the stolen scooty was recovered and a person identified as Ganesh Ghosh was arrested.
The arrested accused is a resident of Chhath Pukur area under Fulbari I Gram Panchayat.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri Court on Tuesday. Police will seek his custody for further interrogation to identify other members involved and uncover links to other theft cases.
