NJP police bust 7 burglars in separate incidents

Siliguri, 10th June: 7 burglars charged with housebreaking have been arrested by the NJP police. 


As per the information, a burglary was reported at a residence in the NJP Baribhasha area on June 7. Allegedly, the thieves had fled away with cash and precious gold jewelry. Following this, the house owner Swapan Chandra lodged a complaint at the NJP police station.

Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and arrested two men, identified as Biswanath alias Kancha and Ravi Sarkar. The arrested accused individuals were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.


On the other hand, another burglary was reported at a house in Sukanta Pally area. The house owner Sutapa South stated the matter came to light after she returned home on June 5 from a different state. Following this, she lodged a complaint at the police station.

The police launched investigations and arrested three women and two minors in this regard. The stolen items were recovered from their possession. The arrested accused women were produced before the Jalpaiguri court and the two minors have been sent to the Juvenile court.
