NJP police arrest two with firearms ahead of assembly polls

Siliguri, 05th March: The central security forces are conducting raids in sensitive areas of the city ahead of the assembly elections.


Likewise, the NJP police, on Thursday night, launched operations at the Fulbari area and arrested two men along with firearms. The arrested accused have been identified as Amitabh Singh and Firoz Khan. They were produced at the court on Friday.


According to police sources, the duo is said to have various past criminal records. A local pistol and two fresh cartridges have been recovered from their possession. The police primarily assumes that the firearm has been brought from Bihar. The administrative officials are worried about the recovery of firearms before the assembly elections.
