NF Railway Employees Union raises voices in protest against Alipurduar Division’s responsibility for operating Vande Bharat Express

Siliguri, 18th May: The NJP branch of the Northeast Frontier Railway Employees Union has resorted to protests, expressing displeasure over the railways’ decision to provide operational responsibility for the Vande Bharat Express train to Alipurduar Division, despite the presence and maintenance done by Katihar Division, in this regard.

Reportedly, with the demand of shifting the operational responsibility of the Vande Bharat Express, of NJP to Guwahati, from Alipurduar to NJP, today the members of the union staged a sit-in protest at the ADRM Office of the Railways.

Speaking in this regard, the Union’s Secretary, Bhaskar Tar alleged that, in order to reduce the importance of NJP Station, the railways have provided the responsibility of operating Vande Bharat Express to Alipurduar. Additionally, terming the move as unacceptable, he warned that the union will resort to a hunger strike if their demands are not addressed immediately by the Railway.
